Very clever construction, some amusing and well-varied clues re difficulty and a fine pdm, when it eventually came. Thanks.

Is the prototype a word in the BRB, because I'm going round in circles checking the 5 of the 6 extra letters that I have.

gitto - the prototype isn't in the BRB. I was in the same situation as you with 5 out of the 6 letters and found the solution using anagram-solver.net

Now got a full grid, the prototype and its familiar derivative - jjust waiting for the PDM and the completing the 2 unclued entries.

Hats off to Henri for a superb grid construction! I'm at the stage of having a filled grid with the exception of blanks in the first and last letters of the unclued entries.... and wondering whether I should leave it at that.

..........if you don't do that then the finished grid is not compliant with the derivative nor is unambiguous.

All done, though I need to finish parsing a few clues.

Very clever construction, which must have taken a huge effort.

Is It right that one of the unclued entries is a non-word ?
