I got everything but 11 Down, which I could not solve to save my life.

But after I came here, based on previous hints in this thread, would it be accurate to say that it is part of a certain type of airplane?

As usual, i solved the clues that other people had trouble with but was stumped on different ones! It was the NW corner that had me - 1A, 15A and 1D, and although I think I have 2D I don't see where meat comes in, which makes me wonder if I've got the right answer - the rest of the clue fits.

hi helen
i think you must have 2d wrong as it is definitely meat!
1d is an anagram

I can't help wondering (assuming I have 11 Down right) whether the intended clue was meant to read:

"Landing area in which you might go bust"

which makes more sense to me.

I think you might have it wrong, daz - "landing area" seems even further from what I understand of the solution than "loading area".

I think you must be right Daz, as that definitely makes more sense! I wonder if it's different in the printed version? Does anyone know?

I can't fully parse 15 (which I'm pretty certain is correct). I've got an anagram of two 4-letter words, plus the S of spa, but that leave me with an O and a T which I can't account for. CAn anyone enlighten me?

Agree with most that this was more challenging than usual.

15 is just an anagram with a letter added.

i think we might need to say what our answers to 11 are - "landing area" makes no sense to me.

julesverne, your 2 missing letters are accounted for by a 2-letter word in the clue which is included in the fodder/anagrist.
