I picked this up at 7am a d found it tough to get anywhere. I went out walking and a bit of gardening, picked it up again around 2pm still struggling. Then 4pm arrived and I rattled it off quite easily. A pattern I often find with Paul. I would say this felt tough but then I haven't had to come here for advice once so maybe it wasn't.

I loved some of the clues in this; very Paul. Quite an enjoyable solve I thought.

COD 22a I thought very funny but there were plenty.

Only 13a to complete, and many words will fit. Could I have a hint please?

13 is a backward clue, defn. "ballet dancer". I am not from UK and had to confirm parsing with Google.

Thanks for the hints on 25a.

That's how I saw 21a, brendan, but it's odd as it doesn't really have a definition at all. One doesn't need to be caught in order to be one!

Usually have problems with Paul but surprised to find I completed this without having to consult forum and despite the fact that it is fourth day of Lords test .Thought 2,24 , 10 and 22 all worthy CODs. LOI 23 . Enjoy rest of weekend although probably not going to be very enjoyable for those of us following the cricket.!

Have turned the cricket off dhope. There was an inevitability about it and I can't stand the pain.

Big controversy in that last session. The Aussies didn’t like it, but Stokes and Duckett are still there for tomorrow…

Well at least I don't have the distraction of cricket, though it was a lovely day here for gardening. (We have still had only a little rain - about 2mm yesterday and 0.3mm over night. All the big storms have missed us - what is the point of having the Met Office in Exeter if they can't bring us rain!!)

But I managed to do very little gardening today in order to concentrate on the crossword. I think I have finished, though I have no idea why some of my answers are right. For example 11ac, 15ac, 18ac, 20d and 28ac. Though I may just have worked out 20d.

My FOI was 14d (not a word I knew) closely followed by 10ac and 22 ac. I've never heard of the nemesis referred to in 3,26, though I got the answer and googled the nemesis.

I struggled with 16,4d and haven't actually worked it out yet. I think it is right.

My LOIs were 15ac, 18ac and 20d.

My CODs were 10ac, 12d and 9ac.

Thank you to Brendan for mentioning the hidden. I managed to find it this week, but I've thrown away last week's paper.
