All finished but I have a query.

In my instruction from the misprints, I have the 9th letter being the same as the 8th letter. I obviously know what it should be but my letter seems OK (maybe?) and I can't justify the correct letter from the clue.

simond9x. If that's 8 and 9 in clue order, have you ended up with something topical regarding bills for 8 as definition?

I think you have the correct word for the misprint but it is the 5th not the first letter that is misprinted.

Simond9x - I had that issue for a while.

The misprint is in the fourth position in the same word not the first

Thanks all. I thought I'd tried every letter in that word, apart from the one that's bleeding obvious! Doh! I wasn't sure if my misprint meant the same thing or not but sounded in the right sort of area to me. Thanks again.

Well I'm a bit confused now! 4th, letter, 5th letter... in my 8th of the misprint clues, in clue order, the definition only has 4 letters and I changed the 3rd.

Perhaps I have the wrong numbering system. 😊

Granama - it’s the 9th clue not the 8th

I’ve entered all answers except for one. For the one I have left I think it might be an unusual spelling of a name. However it doesn’t fit my last remaining entry in the grid, and indeed neither does any word.
Does this relate to the final instruction somehow?

Pootle - is it 5 letters? My last word didn’t seem right. It wasn’t in Chambers but I did find it in Wikipedia.

Candledave, then I've definitely got this numbering system confused. My 9th changes the 6th letter and the correction letter is the same as the 10th. Never mind, I think I have only added confusion. 🤔

(The message did come together quite nicely when arranged in entry order though).
