I've got everything else but 'In English wood' and soon it will drive me crazy. Is the definition camp?

Many thanks Cymro. I suspected the B word was a pillow for "they support retirees". So now I have all the letters for this final character, but haven't found it on wikipedia or indeed any other site.

Can someone give me a hint about the wordplay, that may help.

Roof, that character (a soprano) is to be found in the Wiki page. The word play is subtractive, so a term for firmly established minus the letters of rod

So I got 'In English wood' with help from Prospero (live long and !).
I was slightly misdirected by google insisting on giving me a one-letter-out version of 6d, as I like to think of it. Didn't even acknowledge the alternative. Algorithms! Bah! What can't one do?

Found this one of the most enjoyable Guardian Bank Holiday crosswords (still stuck on a couple though). Thank you Maskarade!

In my view this was an excellent puzzle and pulled me from the gloom of Arsenal bottom and Tottenham top of the table. Sometimes I find Maskerade’s clues a bit too obtuse, but these were just right. Many thanks to the setter.
