Hi CrypticSilver,

I think Heston Blumenthal (he of snail on toast fame) might be inspired to make some inventive dishes with them, 5a and 14a flavoured 13a perhaps 😜

Snail toast isn't extreme enough for Heston, brendan - I think it was snail porridge!

Here I am, late to the party as usual. I found this a fairly easy puzzle. Could not parse 24a without help from the forum - and now think it a really good clue. It was 27a that increased my knowledge this week - although I can't think when I will ever need to know the Scots for vomit.

I don’t know what to make of this puzzle, just finished but struggled with the parsing of lots and hence didnt enjoy the answers at the time as was left with a sense of underachievement ….I’m now looking at the finished grid and can see why on reflection it was a good puzzle…but only now…anyone else felt the same ?? Ps I still feel cheated by “a very large area “
