Well I'm stumped on that one then. Thought it might be an obscure word meaning "avoided". Also stuck on 17a and 18d, but have the rest. I always seem to get stuck on different ones to most people :)

27a: I have a solution which is a German beverage. Although I would normally add an -s on the end when ordering one.
Can't parse the solution, though. Do I need to know the Scots slang for throwing up?

18 i thought the definition a bit loose. the bass is the orchestral instrument.
17 cow is a verb
24 is a word for dessert, but i don't know if it's just an english usage.

Cheers Chrise - that confirms what I thought 17a was. Very tricky clue!

Not too bad again this week. I had 29A wrong for a while and 15D wrong until I read this thread but then finished off fairly quickly.

I can’t finish this one. I need help with 6 and 18. FOI 10. COD 23 - I love an anagram without a clue for the answer as such

Yes nice and straightforward this week. So I got stuck in the south east corner for a while. Once I filled in a few there are it was relatively easy to finish off.

FOI was 12a
COD definitely 26a due to being one of my favourite programmes ever.

Still can't parse 24a

The prince in 6 is from a famous play and has a letter for King in it, definition is "band".

18 reads as something that has not happened to an upright orchestral instrument, because it's new.
