Haha, yes I’ve done all the Codewords on the app. I wonder who puts them together, it’s quite a feat in grid filling to achieve a pangram every day

Are prizes still suspended for this? ( i know they're quite poor usually)

thanks for 24 - i had two possibles, neither fully parsed.
26 a bit parochial (and dated?)

Hello everyone
I always log into this blog but very rarely contribute other than to get help when I'm really stuck. I found this crossword relatively easy and have finished it apart from 27a and 21d for which I've got U?R???T I think I know the answer but that would give me B?G? for 27a.

I wonder if any of you did the Brendan crossword earlier this week? It had a good theme and was a pleasure to complete. We get the Guardian every day and in this hot weather we've been having, lying on the sofa and doing the crossword was the limit of my activity.

Hi aicram
I had to Google to confirm the Scots dialect word for 27a. The solution doesn't have a G in it.
Do you remember Dr. Strabismus?

Like most posters I found this fairly straightforward but lots of fun. Nice to solve a puzzle and get some of your 5 a day!
Probably being thick but I don’t get 5a - answer is clear but why?

FOI 12a and plenty of COD contenders - 24a , perhaps.

5 was a familiar word (clearly clued) with an unfamiliar meaning!

Is 24a quite an obscure word?

no, but it might be a britishism?
