Hi everyone

I really might have to give up doing the crossword on a Saturday. I've read through all the clues and just got the one - 1a, which I got instantly. I've now read through the thread and if anything feel even more confused. I'm not sure my recent Latin learning will help.

Oh my gosh! Had a week off and come back to this offering from Vlad! Have had to open a bottle of rose - driven to drink 😀. Got only a handful, would love some friendly forum help! Could I get some help with the drama in 7d, shamelessly all I have for 3D is D………. and maybe a clue for 16 to help me into the south west! When you get them the clues make sense and are good, but really feeling like my year of puzzling has been for nothing!

7d is given by "is" with "rank" first. Noel Coward.
Typical crossword word for "put on" in 16, people not wanting friends around this.

No, they're all correct. Google the only sensible word that fits with Post.

15d, 25a.

Now I will walk my dogs and return perhaps with a clean sieve.

Agreed - an enjoyable puzzle. I learned a new word at 13a, and seemingly like many other posters heard for the first time of the person referenced at 25a. I always like to learn from crosswords.
Annoyed with myself, though, that I cannot parse 2d, 8a or 11a (although I am sure my solutions are correct) - and haven't spotted any help in the forum - but forgive me if you posted and I missed it.
