Wow that was a tricky one! Me and Dad really struggled with it so thanks for all of your help - we'd have never got there without the clues.

I remember Paul being tricky before - I think his way of thinking is just too different to me! Perhaps I need a few drinks before attempting his next one :D

Strange - I found last week really difficult, but this one not too bad. Paul is my favourite compiler by far - as soon as I saw 27 I knew it was going to be a good one! Being an ignoramus wrt British history I had no idea of 22,5 even with all the crossers in place but happily where general knowledge is required my other half usually has the answer, and so it was in this case. Very pleased to get 10,17 eventually as I had ‘ forecourt’ in my head - which doesn’t work of course but after last week I began to wonder if a deliberate mistake was now part of the game. If the enumeration is meant to be part of the clue, that is genius! Thanks Paul

Thanks re 27A, Simon (#70) - I had a PDM after your hint & I really laughed out loud. Love the simplicity of using the word "go".
Also liked 10/17 once I got it - I gather a few of us are only 10 or so years from 10, 17.
Still only 2/3rds through. Tricky one. Everyman was so easy by comparison.
Thanks for all the v helpful hints.

If anyone's there, I'm struggling with the last 3:
19A, 24A, 29A & 20D
I have a possible unpleasant practice for 29A which fits (2nd letter A) but can't parse it.
Thanks

19a anagram of done in stead
24 land as in get something
29 second letter not A. Think Redford/Newman!
20 celebrity is the definition. Why might he have to eat off his lap?

Excellent. Thanks, Chris. I had the wrong composer for 25 (though surely it should read Word, not Note??
19 is obv once you find the anagram.

And 20 (with your hint) made me LOL! I was thrown by knowing I know v few celebs.

Thanks

mmm - i think both celebrity and the answer are nouns, rossim. you could put "a" before either.

No, I think "note" is correct. Think of a scale.
