Can’t parse 1a

Read it backwards

Parsed 1a now. All done, ok when you get going

Well I had a slow start. Typical Paul. But then really got a rattle on. But because I couldn't get 10 17 the SW corner took me ages to finish. But a good puzzle I thought. Never heard of 22 5. Chanced upon it via Google. COD definitely Pauline 27a

Really enjoyed this, but I wish 12ac had been "See woman again..."! though I would have been content with "See person again..."

Not one for me, I'm afraid. Got 11a then nothing.
Ah well, Everyman tomorrow will perk me up again.

I've just lost what I'd written, which was:

I'm finding it hard, but was pleased to get 11ac and 6d on first read through. I've now got a few more, some thanks to the forum - 22,5, who I'd heard of but having the crossers helped; and 9d.

Please can I have some hints for 26ac and 2d.

Hi roof,
for 26 you want a 5 letter vehicle plus the usual letter for daughter, inside a 3 letter problem (a maths one), then (b)rakes at the end. Definition is shocked.

2d is an anagram
difficult to just give a hint for 26 - it's complicated! there is a vehicle included.

Have finished now. I'd never heard of 22/5 so very grateful for the hints above.
COD for me was 20d. I laughed when I cracked that one!
