I'm just not that clever and don't know the Bob Dylan song. Thanks to the hint from Chrise I've got 10ac, but it has thrown my guess for 5d. Fortunately, I've read all the Harry Potters, so got 16d.

I can't parse 25ac and 27ac, so may have the wrong ending for 17d.

So please can I have more hints for 5ac, 17d and 8d and possibly 6,26

I've just managed to google the Bob Dylan reference.

I lucked out, the Dylan song is my favorite from a favorite album.

6,26: anag of "motion top", def. "item to be debated"
8: def "one little and quiet"; word for "place to sleep" + a favorite crossword river.

Hi Roof,

5a - The definition is "fell" but can be read as 3,4 as what happens when one has a "gastric haemorrhage".

17d - Is a homophone (sort of) of how "a refusal damages you" - definition is a medical condition relating to "refusing food"

8d - 4 letter "place to sleep" + a 3 letter "river" - definition is "one little and quiet".

6,26 - Is a straight anagram - definition is "item to be debated".

Hi Geeker,

Blood on the Tracks is indeed a fantastic album - I've also got the guitar songbook of it - great stuff:-)

Many thanks to both Geeker and Brendan. Nice to hear from you Brendan. We've all been wondering where you've been.

I managed to work out 6,26, without spotting the right anagram. This was after getting 5ac

I'm saving the last two until tomorrow as I need my beauty sleep.

I've been feeling very stupid since my jab. Let's hope I'm a bit brighter next week.

Thanks Roof, it's nice to be missed:-) I was trying to mend the damage I did to my acoustic when I lowered the action - it was painstaking and took way longer than expected.
