Indeed thanks. Lovely puzzle (not quite finished yet!).

The late, great John Harrington used the pseudonym Schadenfreude for Listener and Inquisitor, and Oxymoron for EV puzzles. I'm therefore surprised to see an Oxymoron puzzle in the Listener. I'm assuming this is JH as it has all his hallmarks.

Yes, thanks much, tatters. It's not really worth it for me to subscribe to the Times, as I am in the U.S.

Hi Lexawkward,

You're further along than me, I've solved about 3/4 of the clues so far (alas not 33a).

In 21d I've got an archaic/"ancient" word for "to illuminate" which is a 3 letter "queen perhaps" around a 4 letter "Hebrew letter" but that would make "woodblock" redundant but none of the letters in my answer appear in woodblock - where have I gone wrong?

From my answer to 10d, I think I have four letters in square 10. However, from 9ac I can’t find anything to make up a thematic item. Ideas please?
