Quite agree, Gitto. Often the answers were fairly clear, but the wordplay - especially with a movable (maybe) word - eludes me eg 13ac, 17ac.

Meanwhile, I haven't actually done 34d, 43ac, tips appreciated.

34dn has the last letter of small changed to a different size.
In 43ac the German for with is mit.

Dylan, 43ac is in Bradfords for a friar, 34d is an alternative spelling of a word in Bradfords.

Unclued - your A is incorrect.

To satisfy the forensic parsing queen who makes copious notes to answer any solver’s queries, we wondered why the letters from the first 3 words appeared to be a bit random. A distractor perhaps? A similar random string appeared for the Space Invaders puzzle recently. Just wondered.

They are not random at all, simplesimon. They are an abbreviation for the source.
