Thanks Smartie. I had assumed it was a book. I think that's a bit rubbish to be honest. I am sure many answers could be defined by the name of a book!

Robbo, that is right.
'Knights' is simply a pluralised title, and 'oversight is a four-letter word beginning C minus the last letter.

Book for SHE is an old crossword standby. It's the first thing I think of when I see a three-letter answer where book may be the definition. It's very dated and hackneyed, so I understand your lack of enthusiasm, but I thought the clue had a very nice surface.

Is AGER in 7ac a real word? It's not in Chambers is it?

AGER is not in Chambers or Oxford Dictionary of English (though it might be in the full Oxford). Sometimes agent nouns formed by adding the suffix -ER or R are permitted, though I think there should have been a warning in the preamble.

Ager - in Collins - Anything that produces the effects of age on another thing - (Agree could have been mentioned in preamble, but guess 'primary reference' allows it.)
