Hello Rusty,

Why did Peter Sagan keep on looking at his opponents instead of sprinting as fast as he could?

Hello, Pigale,
It was because, I think, he was outnumbered by the Orica-BikeExchange riders. He knows that Mathews has outsprinted him before.
I think he should have went a couple of kilometres out to see if he could break them.
As it was, he needed eyes in the back of his head to watch them, and Eddie Boasson-Hagen.
Did you know Sagan is doing the Mountain Bike event at the Olympics?
Now, back to the ospreys.
Things are happening!

Yes, I expected him to make his move the moment they passed under the 1km arch; shame but the youngster who won has a lovely juvenile face !

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I thought you would like the oblique reference to Sister Mary!
(I could just fancy one of Sister Mary's favourites right now, with a cup of coffee!)
And I like "the morn's morn" - it has a lovely romantic ring to it!
I shall never view 'tomorrow' in the same light again!
I looked in on the ospreys just as soon as I saw your message - but I was too late........all three chicks are back in the nest now!
I read the blog though, and it said that it was the other female chick who took off.
So only the male to take flight now...........
What news on the TdF today?

I looked in again on the chicks - and only two were in the nest then - the third (one of the larger ones) was gone a long while.......
back now though!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I will not forget Sister Stollard and the Eccles cakes!
Michael Mathews won today's stage.
Excellent teamwork by Orica-BikeExchange.
If you go to the Loch o' the Lowes site, you can see the two fledgings.
They have recorded them for YouTube.
I noticed that when the three chicks were in the nest,
one had a trout.
I wonder if a chick caught it, or not?
Yes, I suppose the "morn's morn" has a ring to it.
Very common up here!

Hello, Pigale,
Just hearing the news about Contador.
He has been riding since the crashes at the start of the Tour with three fractures in his leg.
That's several days racing with leg fractures!
He will miss the Olympics.
And he has signed for Team Trek for next season.
Team Trek say they need a big name now that Cancellara is retiring at the end of the season.

Hello Rusty,

Not surprising he could not make up for wasted time, he must have been in agony ! I can't even imagine how he managed to go that far, including some mountain. Good that he already got a team for nexxt year thouth.

BTW, yes, I think I'd heard about P. Sagan riding in Rio, but I did not know which discipline - apart from being cycling of course.

Weather may remain a little unsettled for a day or so, but I think in the South tomorrow, they should be OK.
