Hello, Pigale!
Sorry, I did not spot your earlier post.
Yes, a bad Tour for Contador.
Injured and fevered, he was correct abandoning.
I am surprised to see Sagan in the breakaway.
Be great if he could climb too!
It is a long brute of a stage, truly.
The rest day will be welcome!

Hi, Rusty!
You are enjoying the racing and the scenery!
That is good!
Perhaps next week, once Wimbledon is over, I may get to look in.........I do enjoy the scenic aspect - even if I fail to grasp the essentials of the cycling!
Tennis match going okay - Murray took the first set; second set going with serve.......
Don't forget that Heather Watson and Henri Kontinen are on next in the Mixed Doubles!
It will be quite a while yet though!
(Are you still smelling paint? is the onion working?!)

Hi Rusty,

A lot of difference in weather conditions between most of the day and the last climb - Could you hear the hail on Bike TV reporters helmet?
It must have been one of the toughest stage I have seen.
Good for young Adam Yates, Pinot in pokka dot which is nice, and Froome still in yellow, but no attack from Quintana yet? I know the Alps are yet to come though, but Froome did not even look tired from his effort yesterday.

Hello, Elle!
Yes, the cycling was very good.
A competitive stage.
Another clot sent flying by George Bennett on a climb.
Was his shoulder that hit him as George tried to get round him..
Hope Miss Watson and partner play well.
I have not been back in the onion room.
Will leave it overnight, and see how it goes.

Hello, Pigale!
The weather was bonkers for the last few kilometers!
Enormous hailstones!
Knocked out one or two cameras on Eurosport.
Did French TV manage?
I would like Adam Yates to snatch yellow, even for a day.
Froome looks very strong.
Is Quintana strong enough to attack Froome?
Maybe Rodriguez may be the one?
Very impressed by Dumoulin.
I thought he was just a time trial specialist.
They have earned their rest day!

Hi Rusty,

No mention of any problems with French TV cameras, but obviously poor quality picture.
I doubt that Adam can get yellow, but he might win a mountain stage;
Yes, Froome is impressive and I am wondering if Quintana is not concentrating his efforts in just keeping up with him, but reserving all attack for the Alps - but quite frankly I can't see Team Sky letting him get ahead too easily !

When I looked at the forecast this morning for Andorra, I forgot that there quite a portion of the stage taking in the Spanish Pyrenees; one of the commentators mentioned 41C at some stage!

I know that Andy Murray plays for Andy Murray, and Heather Watson plays for Heather Watson, but I have to say that I was delighted to have two British champions today. Not only did both play exceptionally well, but they enjoyed the whole experience. Celebrating with them is the nearest I will ever come to lifting a tennis trophy!

Good evening, Rusty!
You have missed a tremendous day of tennis!
I hope you got the chance to look in occasionally?
Heather and Henri played magnificently - and well-deserved to win their trophies!
Let us hope that Heather now goes from strength to strength in her career.
This must be a tremendous boost for her.
She will be looking forward to Rio - and of course then playing for her country.
(I think the highlight of my own day though was to watch the Woodies win one more time!)
It is a good job that - apart of course from the Davis cup! - that tennis is over for a while....I need to play catch up in many directions!!
What was the day's outcome in the cycling?
