Hi Elle/Rusty,

A little less hot here too 24C as opposed to 30C yesterday at same time.
I would not have known the answer to that clue either - I googled 10 top London Markets and it did not appear there, which leads me to think it is not a very renowned market.

On the other hand, I know Poole quite well - my aunt had a little house there and I remember going to THE JOLLY SAILOR for Sunday lunchtime drinks with my cousin, where there was a brilliant jazz band playing.

Rusty, Poole is South Coast, a bit to the West of Isle of Wight, if that helps - and should I be wrong, Elle will correct me!

No Tour today, so time to do some serious shopping this afternoon!

Good morning, Elle.
Not so warm here either.
I was out earlier and should have had on a jacket!
The market I had not heard of.
It parses very well, though, now that I know the name of it!
I have since looked it up and it is a very old market.
Should I have heard of it?
I have given up on Mr Rogan and his merry band of setters.
Like talking to the wall!

Hello, Pigale!
It appears to be a very old market.
Maybe I shall have to bone up on markets as well as tube stations!
My English geography knowledge is pretty poor, Pigale.
I have, of course, heard of Poole, Dorset, but could not point it out on a map.
Same with Southampton, Bristol, Coventry etc.
I like exploring maps too, so I really have no excuse!
The chicks are "helicoptering".
I think one or more will take wing imminently!

Hi, Rusty!
I went out without a jacket too - it was a bit nippy!
No, I don't think you should have heard of Leadenhall market - I know the name but not a lot about it. I think it is a modern shopping centre within a Victorian market place.
Now, I thought that Bernard Legat was a naturalised citizen of the US?
Didn't he take out American citizenship in the early 2000s...........maybe 2004?
I'm not sure if dual citizenship is accepted in Kenya? but it is of course in the US.
Your Geography cannot possibly be worse than mine!!
Pigale has explained to you where Poole is , but it might help if I tell you it is next to Bournemouth?
No, it isn't really within visitable distance but then they are only going away for a week so do not need to be visited!
We are looking after the cat - so there is no question of our going too!

Hello, Pigale!
It is interesting that you know Poole!
We know Bournemouth and Poole well, as we have stayed in Bournemouth many times, and have also have holidayed in Swanage - taking the ferry from Sandbanks.
Jazzgirl is the person to ask if you want information on Poole!
She should be an expert on it by now!

Hello Elle,

I remember visiting Bournemouth several times while staying in Poole, and I certainly remember spending one afternoon there and ending up on a place where there was a group singing (free) - it was THE WHO !! They were not well known then; I could have been 16 or so.
Nice part of England - so is Somerset and its cider !!!!

Hello, Elle,
No, I am useless at English geography.
I could pinpoint London, Luton, Dunstable, Newcastle and the Isle of Man (is that part of England?) but that would be it.
I am worse with Wales.
Some London market lists give Leadenhall, others don't.
Bournemouth and Eastbourne intrigue me, because "bourne" and the Scots "burn" mean the same. A stream or small river.
No, I could not pinpoint Bournemouth.
Weather is a lot brighter now!

One of the osprey chicks has just flown the nest!
She did a circuit and then arrived safely back!

I've just watched one (perhaps the same one) take off and come back after quite a while.

Good afternoon, Rusty!
All three of the chicks are back in the nest!
I don't think there is any means of our knowing which one is managing to fly? or if indeed there is more than one so doing?
I presume that the officials will be able to tell from the tagging.
I forgot to ask you...what happened about the two deaths at T in the Park?
Was foul play suspected? or were the deaths due to drug overdoses?
It is sad that something as simple as a concert cannot go ahead without something like that occurring.
What is life coming to?
There is a break today in the cycling, is there not?
I am feeling bereft without the tennis! although there is an awful lot that I should be doing to catch up!
However, I have dusted and hoovered........and done one of the crosswords......that will do for today!
So now I am going out for a walk!
It is a lovely afternoon!
