Wow pigale, that sounds very serious indeed. I'm glad I live on a hill, too. It may get very blowy at times but it's good for starting cars and keeping out of floods.

It is still very cold and damp here, have on winter clothes and central heating!

Hi Ros,

yes, quite serious; luckiiy nobody was hurt as evacuations were done in time - remains damage to floors, furniture et... I am sure those who suffered flooding will have plenty of help from other villagers.

I too had heating on for a couple of hours last night and again one hour first thing this morning - temps have now gone up a bit (up to 16C I believe, which is rubbish for June).

My friends in Cumbria have had beautiful weather recently - well, they had their share of flooding earlier in the year !

Did the rain successfully washed your stones?

Hi Ros and Pigale!
I have only just returned home....I have been out all day!!
I'm sorry to hear of the flooding of your village , Pigale! I am glad that no one was hurt and relieved that you yourself are not threatened by the floods.
We have had heavy rain again here for a little while - giving way eventually to a steady "normal" downpour, but fortunately we are not in any danger from potential flooding.
Our friends in Cumbria have so far still avoided any flooding - they have indeed been lucky, compared with the rest of the district.
How is the patio work coming along, Ros? or has rain stopped play?

Hi elle

Hope it was a good day out. Very cold here

Patio floor laid, very pleased with it. Now need to wash umpteen stones to go round edge (this is a sunk patio surrounded by railway sleepers and many plants, so is completely private! which was the plan) Have to look after granddaughter on Friday, maybe she would enjoy stones and water........

Yes, thank you, Ros - great day out!
We took our younger daughter and her husband out for lunch - to celebrate his fortieth birthday.
We went to Prezzo - my first visit - good meal and nice ambience.
Baby slept through it all!

Hi Everyone,

I wonder if you have been watching the Roland Garros? I don't follow tennis but I know that there has been some disruption due to rain; Are you able to follow it on British TV?

BTW, it's rained all night and is still raining !

Hello, Pigale.
I hope you are coping with the rainfall.
France and Germany appear to be getting it very badly.
Weather with me has been glorious the last few days.
Very warm and not a cloud to be seen.
I do not follow the tennis but I know it is on ITV4 and Eurosport in the UK.

Hello Rusty!

Nice to hear from you and hope you are OK.

It is still raining now, so I don't know what it will be like by tomorrow morning; We are due to have a few days of mixed sun and showers before having real nice weather next week - I hope !

I guessed your weather has been good - although not exactly close to you, my Cumbrian friends have had a beautiful and hot spell for the last 10 days or so. But they had their share of flooding !

I am fine, thank you!
The last few days have been very warm here.
Getting spoiled!
I hope your rain eases soon.
Parts of France have been badly hit, I see.

Hey, Rusty!
Just looking in before bed, and see you are back on the Forum.
How were Southern and Northern Ireland? I hope you had a great time with your family and friends?
Warm weather? whatever is that!
It has gone extremely chilly here......I wore a padded jacket today out walking and we even have the central heating on!
And the rain.......had to dig out my wellies!
