Good morning, just, Elle!
Fine day here, but clouding over a bit now.
No withdrawals, yet, from National, so not looking sunny for Nina.
I have finished my walking for the day.
Going to be engrossed in the Aintree racing and Masters golf for the rest of the day. I do not know the answers to the given clues and will not have time for the crossword today.
Pacha de Poulder runs at Aintree today, but not with Victoria.
She is not experienced enough for the Aintree fences.
Hope you enjoy your lunch with the ladies!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Thank you. Yes, I did enjoy lunch! and the chat! It was good!
Our fine day did not last.....we have had some heavy rain and it has become very cold again!!
Brrrrh!
I thought padded jackets were no longer going to be needed - after all, I was out without coat last weekend!
I quite liked Malone's clues , but I can understand his frustration when they involve London yet again, as did the first one!
For the second, you needed to know of Epping Forest! but it was rather clever!
Mind you, clues are such an individual thing.... just look at the trouble that I had the other day, yet you thought that clue a good one and straightforward! I couldn't "get it" at all!
How is the racing at Aintree going? and the golf?
Any news of Nina and the possibility of her racing in the Grand National?
I shall now take a look at my crosswords.......

Hello, Elle!
Fine afternoon here!
I know of Epping Forest.
Never heard of Newham. I've heard of Oldham.
But as I told Mr Rogan, I live hundreds of miles from London, like thousands of Times readers. Why should I know it?
Does he really think that is a reasonable clue?
No news of Nina, but the horse she rode at Cheltenham, won today, with Jamie Codd aboard.
I watched more of the golf today and enjoyed it.
Many players had granddaughters and grandsons caddying for them, and even putting for them. Very enjoyable.
I am watching the Masters now on Sky red button.
My man Fowler dropped two shots at the first hole!
Oh dear!

Hi, Rusty!
We are having April showers!
One minute it is sunny, then later raining!
I have just had a huge pet shop delivery. The local shop delivers free, which is great when I have a heavy (weight wise) order.
You would not be happy were you doing the Times QC today!
Another "Cockney" - type clue in there!
Hopin' to get something to relieve pain (7)
I would have expected the clue also to read as "somethin' ", wouldn't you?
(And two homophones, altho' nothing to dispute.)
You have a small bet on Rickie, don't you? I hope he is now back on track?
Right, I recorded Eggheads earlier, so am now going to watch it......

Hi rusty
What's going on? I've been watching the Masters on the red button since it started; now the coverage is supposed to have started proper, I've dropped in on it three times (it's HD, which the red button isn't), but, apart from just seeing Paul Casey's birdie on 16 (which I had already seen on the button), all they seem to be showing is flashbacks! When are they going to start showing this year's action?

Hello, Chris,
The main programme started at 19.00.
Lot of chat in the studio, though.
And an interview with a One Direction!
My man Fowler is having a round to forget!

Hello, Elle!
Rickie has been in the woods and in the water etc.
Not having a good day at all! He needs a miracle!
Yes, have a wee bet on him.
I usually back Jim Furyk but he has been out with an injured wrist for months.
Aspirin(g)?
Awful clue.
Fine evening here!

Hi rusty
It seems that they don't really show the golf until 8.

It does encourage us lesser mortals when a player as good as Ernie Els can 7 putt from 3 feet!

Jordan Spieth, when asked about his dinner, said how pleased he was that "Mr. Palmer" enjoyed it, though he wasn't well.
