Hello, Elle!
Possibly the logistics.
The horse was found to be lame this morning.
Getting a reserve to the course would be tricky to put it mildly, especially an Irish trained horse.
There was snow in Donegal this morning.
Good morning, Pigale!
Thank you for the explanation about the Compeigne start.
I am really looking forward to the race, especially the Forest at Arenberg. Cancellara has a new bike for the race.
Saw both ospreys earlier. No egg yet!
Hello, Malone,
What an awful clue.
I endorse Elle's comments!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
We had a nice walk; the rain ceased and the sun came through somewhat feebly.
We did well to wait.
The dog's suspect leg/foot seems a little better today. It isn't as obvious that she has a minor problem and it certainly doesn't inconvenience her when running full tilt.
"Full tilt"? I wonder from where this originates?
I shall investigate later.......
Now I am going to make a coffee and then sit down to watch the big race at 5.15 pm............

I forgot to return to say that I was delighted that no-one liked Torques/talks. It was nonsense!

Hi, Rusty!
I have been just watching the Grand Final of "The Voice".
A worthy result!
All over now until next year - I shall miss it!
I got very confused watching The Grand National!
What a lot of horses either fell /unseated their riders or were withdrawn from the race.
Only 16 to finish. I'm so glad that all the others came home safely though.
A shame that Nina came off her horse - she seemed fine though - and I couldn't keep track of what happened to Katie?
The winner did well - it was a very dramatic finish!
Are you still watching golf?

Hello, Elle!
Yes, engrossed in the golf.
It is very good!
Katie was unseated two fences from home.
Very pleased for Mouse Morris.
He is one of the good guys!
Wonder how BGT went?

Good morning, Rusty!
How are you today?
We have a beautiful morning! blue skies and sunshine - they say it will be cold but it doesn't feel all that chilly out in the garden!
I expect that by now you will be watching the cycling?
I remember your saying you would have a busy day!
How did the golf go yesterday evening?
I didn't watch BGT, nor have I recorded it. I recorded "The Voice ", in case family or friend rang me in the middle of it - this is always happening to me!
I saw in the News though that Amanda Holden used her Golden Buzzer to put through a 12-year old girl as she sang so amazingly!
You will have to give me the lowdown on this week's perfomance later on when you have watched it........

Good morning, Elle!
Nice-ish day day here.
I have been out early for a brisk walk and am home for the day.
Yes, I have cycling on. It is dry at Compeigne.
Looks fairly cold there.
Quite a way from the cobbles yet.
There are breaks trying to escape but the serious stuff wont start until the Arenberg Forest.
I may catch up on BGT before the golf starts.

Hi, Rusty!
That is very commendable your going out for an energetic walk so early!
You can relax now and watch your sport!
I hope it is good......hopefully, you will also see some impressive scenery.
We are just about to go out ourselves.......I think to the woods and then by the river.
I did the Everyman earlier on - only one today that I couldn't fully parse - I have an extra 's' that I cannot account for....I shall give it some more thought......
There is one clue that I think you might like (a double topical one for you!)
County town in Scotland, small (7)

Hello, Elle!
Lovely afternoon here!
Matt Hayman won Paris-Roubaix.
He has just been presented with a cobblestone on the podium.
No impressive scenery, plenty of mines etc.
Great race! My man Cancellara crashed on the cobbles but came in a couple of minutes down.
I do not know the answer to your fiendish clue!
Will have a look at BGT before golf now!

Hello everyone

Hi Elle and Rusty,

Hope all is well;
Can't remember Matt Hayman's team? Nor his nationality !

I did not watch the race because I was too busy.......... sunbathing !
Temps in the 20C this afternoon with a slight South-Easterly breeze - almost Summer, so could not miss it!

I know Paris Roubaix is a classic, but quite frankly I find it rather boring to watch ! Hope you are not disgusted with me Rusty !
