By the way Chris, is it not you who mentioned 'spilling the beans on the cat's pyjamas' on the PCT sometime last year ? I know someone mentioned it and I subsequently bought the book, but I cannot remember on whose recommendation it was.

No, I remember seeing it, but can't remember who suggested it.

I googled and found that Rusty posted 2nd August 2015 saying he would be ordering the "spill the beans......"book ...it was on his list to buy on Amazon. Maybe he changed his mind ?

Then in that case it must be thanks to Rusty that I bought my copy - I tried to find out where it was mentioned on the PCT but just could not find any mention of it - Thanks !

Hello, all!
I have checked Amazon and eBay and did not buy the book.
I bought a "Dictionary of Idioms" in July, however.
I cannot think where else I could have bought, but I do not remember it.

Pigale, did you read the osprey blog today?
Quite a lot of goings on yesterday with an intruding osprey and a buzzard!
No sign of an egg yet!

Hello Rusty,

No, I had not read the blog yet; of yesterday's activity, I missed the early (!) morning intrusion - not connected yet - I then saw the pike being brought in, and I also missed the afternoon intrusion when I went to Super U.

Rather a shame really since I keep the sound on just for this very reason: be alerted when something happens !

I too look forward to eggs being laid. Apparently, the birds will keep on mating until the female has produced at least 3 eggs (blog yesterday).

The little tit in the next above the garage has laid 4 eggs, but has now covered them with all sorts of moss and feathers and has stopped laying any more. It is not very warm at present due to North wind and we might have a couple of really cold days next week - somehow birds now this sort of thing !

PS - Rusty, Laddie has just brought in a fish (could not see what it was) and then took off with it to eat it alone !

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Just got back from my trip to Bromley!
Daughter and I had a nice day out - had lunch, and did some shopping.
I bought myself a new jacket ( for my husband to give me for my birthday!)
I see there has been a lot of chat on here whilst I have been out!
Well...I was half right!
You did mention the intention of buying the book, according to someone's research (goodness know how that was achieved ? I certainly didn't intend trawling through nearly 7000 posts just to prove a point!)
You see? My brain is full of these inconsequential titbits!
Like remembering that Garibaldi was shot........in the foot!
And William Huskisson became president of the Board of Trades Act in 1823!
Info of no use to man nor beast, but lodged there in my head!
How was your walk?
Where did you go?

Hello, Chris!
That was interesting about Dr Spooner.
I've always wondered did he officiate at Christenings, too?
Goodness knows what sort of forename the poor baby would end up with?!
