Hello, Elle!
You have had a busy day!
Not me!
Though I did have a bit of a clear out of unwanted stuff.
Some for charity shop, but most for the skip.
I did the puzzle hours ago and I think it was OK.
I have forgotten it now, though!

Hi, Rusty!
New Year's Eve tomorrow......
I have not yet come across anyone who is planning to celebrate it.
Maybe further north of here, there might be more enthusiasm?
My cousin used to go first -footing!
But as you so rightly said earlier, New Year is not what it once was!
And I unfortunately have had to cancel the New Year's Day birthday party for my husband, as he understandably is not feeling up to it at the moment.
Maybe we can have a belated celebration at later date.
How about you?
Any plans for tomorrow evening?

Hello, Elle!
It's not New Year's Eve here, tomorrow, it's Hogmanay!
I have always been an advocate of "no planning" at New Year, for it never seemed to work out.
Best take it as it comes, is my way of thinking.
I am starting early, though.
Miss O and me are going to Pine Cone tomorrow morn, after that I have no idea.
I am not going out (I don't think) in the evening, but will be here after the bells if anyone wants to first-foot me.
It's a pity you had to cancel your husband's party, but he comes first, and a party can be held at any time.
You are wise!

Good morning, Rusty!
It was still quite dark, when I went out with my dog this morning!
Dry though.
Yes, sorry......Hogmanay!
You are off to a good start with an outing to the Pine Cone with your granddaughter.
Now...you will be interested to hear that Sainsbury's has emailed me, several hours in advance, about two (possible) substitutions in my delivery order.
In both instances, they have suggested perfectly viable alternatives.
I can return these with the driver, though, if I do not want them, and the money back will be added to my card.
This sounds fine to me.
Roll on one o'clock!
Have fun with Miss O!

Good morning, Elle!
Back to winter here.
Hard frost and it's pretty cold!
I will be interested to hear about your delivery!
Sainsbury seems to be switched on, anyway.
Off soon with Miss O.
Hope the road to Pine Cone is OK.

Hi, Rusty!
Just dull, dirty, and squelchy underfoot here!
I went looking for a commemorative magnolia tree, this morning, planted in the park by the daughter of a friend, in memory of her mum, who had recently died. After dog and I ploughed through a considerable amount of mud/ mulch in the park, we eventually found the tree......guided by the purple ribbon tied around the trunk!
I shall take some flowers next time we go.
How was your trip to the Pine Cone?
I expect it was very busy...
Did you have a long wait for a table?

Hello, Elle!
It is a great day here, but cold with hard frost.
Pine Cone was fine.
Not too busy, today.
I think most folk would be home getting ready for the celebrations later today.
The young ones are all going out!
I think I am staying home.
There is a live ceilidh on BBC Alba to bring in the New Year.
I hope to tune into that!

Rusty.
I was about to ask you for the name of the BBC station for the ceilidh. Your post has given me the answer!
Thanks & Happy New Year

Yes, BBC Alba, at 11.30 p.m.
Hosted by Cathy Macdonald and Niall Iain Macdonald.
Happy New Year, to you, too!

Hi, Rusty!
I have just returned from a trip to the chemist, and to nearby Aldi (not a shop I much like) to buy some bread.
It is damp and somewhat foggy out.
Very miserable!
My Sainsbury's delivery went very well.
I was most impressed......both by the service proffered, and by the friendly and helpful driver.
The two "substitutions" were very sensible .....and had I been buying "in person", I should have made a similar decision were I unable to buy my first choice.
So I am very pleased!
That sounds a good idea (in the absence of Andy Stewart!) to watch a ceilidh!
