The parking notice is only an invoice. A council parking fine is different, but on private land you have more chance of getting it cancelled as it is plainly ridiculous. Among other things, I know you go to the Toby carvery quite a lot and could say that , if they do not cancel the fine, your family will not be doing so again and also you will be publicising their policy in the local press and social media.
My son got a similar ticket, queryed it and it was quashed.

Hello, Ros!
I don't think the Euro Car Parks have the proverbial "leg to stand on", but I could do without the ensuing hassle!

Hello, Elle!
I think your letter is a good plan.
Have you told the Carvery what has happened?
They may not like a regular customer being charged in this way.
I would let them know and they may do something about it.

Good morning, Rusty!
Brrh! Nippy out!
A good walk , though.
Well, it is a "good" letter , if I say so , myself!
Butt I do wonder how much effect it will have?
I did attempt (before writing the letter to the ECP) to phone the Toby Carvery to speak to the manager, but only got a recorded voice saying no one was available to take my call - no option to leave a message.
So I think I shall also write to the manager there....it may well be a better option than a phone call?
Perhaps send him / her a copy of the letter I have sent to the ECP?
What do you think?
But we are not "regular customers" of this particular Carvery, you see, having driven further out into Kent, after attending the church Remembrance Day service.
This is a long way from our own "local" restaurant.
Ah well, the bottom line is that we shall not pay them a penny!
( You may need to write to me c/o Her Majesty's Prison!)

Good morning, Elle!
Still mildish here. No frost anyway.
Yes, write to the manager.
Is it too far to drive to and see him (if he's there)?
I don't think you'd be suitable for HM's prisons, Elle.
They don't "do" long brisk walks, as a rule.
I have been offered 50% return for my watch.
Not encouraging them!

Hi, Rusty!
I have just been speaking to my friend.
She sounds quite bright and chirpy, considering that she says she is "battered and bruised" and has her arm in a splint, following her two falls.
I think her GP is going to investigate whether there is an underlying reason behind her unsteadiness and constant "tripping".
Now... I have written my letter to the manager of the Toby Carvery.......and have also enclosed both the Demand notice from the ECP, and my reply.
No, the Carvery is too far away to drive over to see the manager in person......it would involve at least three hours of driving , there and back.
And I think I should prefer to have communications in writing?
I have intimated that bad publicity, as a result of uncalled for "fines," might damage the reputation of the restaurant and cause them to lose custom.
We shall see what happens!
A 50% return for your watch is ridiculous!
What, do they think then that it is only "half" counterfeit?!

Hello, Elle!
Hope your friend is on the mend after her falls!
Your letters will hopefully get a reply from Toby.
I would not have mentioned "bad publicity", though.
The manager will be well aware of that, I'm sure.
Anyways, I have just had emails from eBay and PayPal, saying the money I paid for the watch has been refunded in full, to my PayPal account.
I've checked, and it has.
Not a cheep from the seller, though.
I already asked eBay for a return label but nothing so far.

Hi, Rusty!
I simply said that I thought it might facilitate matters were the manager to explain their car Registration set up to the ECP, because this type of situation will surely bring bad publicity to the restaurant, which would then lose valued custom.
I think that was fair comment?
Ah, that is good news about the refund for your watch!
Obviously the seller is keeping a very low profile.
It sounds similar to the situation we had with Paper Cavalier.
We never heard back from that company...... and Amazon was left to deal with the matter.
It was Amazon, then, that refunded our money!
But you have indeed done well to get so prompt a response.
What will you do now about getting another watch?

Hello, Elle!
It is perhaps fair comment, but I would not mention "bad publicity" but stick to saying you are not paying the fine and explain why.
I'd keep it simple.
I am pleased with eBay.
No idea if the seller will send a return label or not.
I got the cobbler to fit a new strap to my watch.
And I have another watch for "good", that I wear from time to time.

Good evening, Rusty!
Well, for better or worse , both letters are now in the post .......
I shall let you know the eventual outcome!
If the seller does not send a return label, will you get to keep the watch?
I guess it would do as a spare, even if it does lose a little over a period.
In the case of the (wrong) book sold by Paper Cavalier, we had to pay the return cost and claim it back later.
I have just been chatting to my daughter whilst on her way home from work.
She says it has gone bitterly cold.
The poor dog is going to the Groomers in the morning!
She will certainly feel the difference after her trim, and will need to wear her coat!
Is your son coming to see you?
I hope you both have a good chat.
