I had never heard of van Aert before yesterday either - where has he sprung from?

Hello, Elle!
Yes, the cycling was entertaining.
Wout van Aert is an up and coming Belgian rider.
Had a very good season, so far.
Could be a good tussle with him and Sagan for the green jersey in Le Tour, I think.
No, I don't understand about you accessing your email account on other browsers (it was your use of capital letters that threw me!).
How do other browsers know your account?
You must have to type something into them, surely?
Maybe like me getting my photos in Google Photos on different browsers?
How do you get half a storey?
I am not very with it today, I'm afraid!

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear, well if you ask me technical questions, then I am lost!
I cannot offer explanations for what happens!
I can access my email account on any and every browser.......
I just have to sign in with my email address and my password.
It is very simple to do.
Half a storey?
Well, I didn't know how else to describe it.......
The downstairs level comprises a large through lounge, and also a dining room, through to the kitchen.
Then from the hall, we go up a flight of stairs to the first landing on which is a bedroom (with ensuite bathroom) overlooking the back garden, and also another bathroom on that level.
But both these rooms project backwards only.
Then there are more stairs up to another, this time a long, landing, from which are three more bedrooms.
Can you visualise this?
Is it making any sense to you?

Hello, Elle!
Surely you can only access your account if Outlook is already installed on a browser, or you download it?
Where do you put your email address if Outlook is not installed?
That's what I can't grasp.
For instance I am on Google Chrome with no Outlook, so how or where would you type your email address?
I would describe your house as being on three levels, ground floor, first floor, second floor, so three storeys?

Hi, Rusty!
But you don't install or download your account for access, if it is web based?
You could just type www.hotmail.com for instance in your top bar...and then log in appropriately with your email address and password, no matter whose computer/ tablet/ whatever you are using.
That is the advantage over an email client account, where you have access limited to whichever appliance you have downloaded the app.
I think I have that right... I shall check with daughter tomorrow!
Now the house.....but we don't have three FULL levels though......?
The first floor is only half a level!
I can see that my house description is useless - just like my attempt at explaining web based email accounts!
I'm sorry but I've done my best!
And just look at the time!
Midnight!
I am away to my bed...talk tomorrow!

Good morning, Elle!
A nice dry start to the day here!
I understand you, now, about the access to your account.
I am the same with Google Photos.
I have quite a few web based accounts, but I do not type the name in the search bar.
I have "shortcuts" for them in my "bookmarks bar".
I find that easier.
I think I understand about your house/storeys now.

Rusty, I don't know if you've tackled today's Times crossword. One of the Across answers features a wonderful word - I dare you to slip it into conversation today!

A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
A pleasant sunny day here, albeit a tad chilly as yet.
Now.....
No, I do not have to type the name of my Outlook account in the search bar when using my OWN computer.....
But if I wanted to access my email say on your computer, then I should need to type it in the search bar.
Then, when requested, put in my email address and my password.
That process would enable me to access my email account on any suitable appliance.
The thing that so annoys me is that I have used Hotmail - first with IE and then with Edge - for 18 years...and now Outlook is messing it all up!!
I am thinking of using gmail instead......but will consult with my daughter on Sunday!
I do not know how that will affect my signing in?
I'm glad you followed me about the two and a half storeys!
It might have helped had I thought to tell you the roof is on two different levels?

P.S Rusty!
I'm assuming Malone is referring to 11a - a new word for me!
But easy enough to get from the parsing of the clue!
I'm just going outside to try it out on the next passer-by......

Hello, Malone!
Yes, I have finished today's puzzle.
I suspect you mean "Pithecanthropus" ?
I think that is my clue of the day!
An excellent clue to arrive at the answer, too!
