I think cataract replacement surgery is the most successful surgery done in the NHS.

Yes I heard that another procedure may have to be done that's why I didn't go private given my age as well! Would have cost a fortune. My youngest daughter went private and had multi lens put in so she does not have to wear reading glasses etc. but has been told as she get older she will have to have them replaced.

Speak to you all later off for a curry now.

Well, Elle!
I take part in the bowel cancer tests every two years and last year they detected blood in my sample;, they retested. Same again! Had to phone the colorectal nurse who arranged the colonoscopy, quickly!
During the procedure the surgeon found two polyps which he removed for testing. That was all. He said I was fine. The polyps went to lab and were normal.
The surgeon (a helluva nice guy) told me that bowel cancer begins on polyps, so they remove all polyps as a standard procedure.
That's it for another two years!

Sorry to be tardy in replying - juggling computing with the Athletics...... it must have been a very worrying time for you, I'm glad that it turned out to be clear. It's amazing that the occult blood test can now be done on a micro sample!

Elle and Doglet,
I find it utterly amazing the things that medical science can do. And I am also very grateful for the care I receive from all medical staff at GP and hospital.

Doglet: doesn't RK sometimes mean a shift towards long-sightedness as one gets older?
