Good luck with that you will not regret it. I have been unable to drive for ages now but I have had single replacement lens put in as I had cataracts. My husband would say I have never been able to drive!! Except him up the wall Ha Ha!

I wouldn't forget the Athletics, Rusty!!!!
Had a great walk - the rain held off till we nearly got back to the car!
Just watched Martin Rooney win Gold in the 400m - Matthew Hudson-Smith got Silver, Conrad Williams just missing out on the medals - pity.
Is it a cataracts op you are waiting for? Just said to Linda that my husband had both his eyes done a few years ago - very successful.

Linda, I had cataract surgery on both eyes and I only need specs for reading.
But it is fairly common for the replacement lens to cloud over again. Just like having the cataract back!
The treatment is a laser procedure done in the doctor's office. The laser makes a wee hole in the lens and you can see clearly, more or less immediately.
I have had my right eye done a couple of years ago. now I have to get my left one fixed!

Whoops! Sorry to hear about that, Rusty. I didn't know that could happen, I thought that once the replacement lens was in place it stayed "good" so to speak. Can this occur yet again, then?
So far, my husband's vision still seems ok......

Yes, it is the most common thing that can happen after cataract surgery. Very easily fixed though, Elle, so dont dwell on it.
I got my right eye done two years ago. Had my pupil dilated and was less than five minutes in doctors office getting it done. I sat in front of the laser machine (in my street clothes) looked into the machine, heard a few clicks and that was it done. My eye is great, now.

I think they put a contact lens in my eye for a few minutes. It helps them target the laser, apparently.
