I have received complaints about this week's Clueless thread posted by Les40. After due consideration, I deleted the thread as it was in very poor taste and some of the answers were not those that Ash and myself wish to see on our friendly Crossword Forum. There is a place for this sort of thread on the internet but it is not on our site.

Well done! I'm no prude but found it smutty.
Rosalind you were right. You were not alone.

While Les is more than capable of defending himself I am sure he did not intend to offend anyone. In my opinion he chose the word as it was difficult to clue (he did state last week he would look for such a word) as 4 of the 8 letters were a "j", an " X" and 2 "Z" s and he perhaps expected somewhat more subtle definitions than some given, again a dfficult task but not impossible!
I did try to keep this in mind with both my efforts but I apologise unreservedly if I inadvertently offended anyone.

Sorry, a "V" not an "X", obviously.

Well, what a shame! That was, indeed, a difficult word to clue and I would also say that that was what Les intended in setting it.
I didn't see anything offensive in the clues which were posted before my own and can't comment on the ones which were posted afterwards as I haven't seen them.
If my own clue did indeed upset some other forum users, you have my apologies.
I just wonder, though, how are we to know what some people may find offensive? After all, in the past, we've had complaints about banter (persiflage) on the threads.

I think there is a difference between suggestive and offensive. All down to personal taste I suppose!

Quite right, Bernie, I agree.
If we had marked the thread (as with persiflage threads) "Potential for suggestive material" would it have survived the axe?

I had to google the word, and my guess turned out to be right. I can be (and like to be) naughty, but my puritanical forebears chastise me when I am. I yielded to their influence on this one and gave it a pass.

I find the idea of vajazzling rather ridiculous, but Les40 didn't invent it...I hope none of my clues caused any offence, the first one was a reference to a well known colemanballs re Fanny Craddock "May all your doughnuts look just like Fanny's"
