Hi everyone. Am I alone being stuck on 14d? I'm guessing "marksman" is the Swiss bloke, but as for the other bits???

Yes - the Swiss bloke.
There are two "other bits" - one is a "vessel" (loosely).
The def. is quite correct but beautifully misleading!

Use a nickname for a President (of some time ago). Not sure I'm keen on the construction of this one.

Sorry chrise: I must be very dim today! I'm thinking vessel must be pan or cat, head is nap, keep is part of a castle: I just don't get it!

"Keep head" is the definition - however "keep" is a noun.

Yes chrise, like Big H says (?). I mean misleading is the whole point{!}, but why am I so way off "vessel"? While you are here, (6d) the German can be the middle of 13d. Is that correct, please?

Sorry, xfan - don't quite understand what you are asking - have you spotted the vessel?.

I was held up for a while as I had very confidently written in the wrong answer for 6d.
