It's OK ambi(t) (scope or area)

This week is beginning to sound like previous RT xword forums with lots of controversy. I know you have given lots of hints for 6~D but I still cannot get it - Middle one of thirteen (5) i have ?e?r? I am also stuck on 16A `Poker-faced no more as sleep returns`(7) So far I have ?E?D???.

I wrote in SEVEN for 6d - unfortunately that was wrong!

I suggested this previously - what sorts of things come in 13s?

16a poker-faced is the def.; first 4 letters given by "no more", last 3 by "sleep returns"

Thanks Chrise. I will go home and ponder what you say and see if I can finish. I really struggled with 23A - that inferior potter!! And I do watch the Antiques Roadshow etc when ever I can but still didn`t get it until I looked on Quick Solve!!!

My first attempt at 6d was `dwarf` !!
I did correct it later. Mags.

Still stuck on 6 down ?e?r?. I'm hard of thinking today. Any alternative clues please?
