Hi. My thoughts on 14 d are - answer word for head of a castle (keep). Made from Can (vessel) around Stella (an American artist who makes marks with paint). This seems to cover all bases.
My problem is with 6d. Any help please?

Has anyone noticed (as pointed out on the other forum) the SNOOD one doesn't work: "wears" ought to mean that the "O" for "old" is on the OUTside !?!

GK - `dons` means `wears`. Mags.
Well- `puts on` to be precise!

You are right, mags, but so is GK - "puts on back to front" is SNOD, but "wearing old" indicates the O should be outside?

Hi raymond
More recent than Abe, I think.

8a is an anagram - mountain range
