And yes, Ixion, I'm still waiting for an answer from one of the paper's addresses I wrote to (though my complaints only concerned the availability of the online service). Perhaps they'll do s'thing by tomorrow!

The theme part in 3d (which I don't think anyone has answered) is, I think a word for against with an island(+theme) minus mo(little time)

Well, coming ready or not...I've managed to submit my completed grid, though I wasn't 100% convinced by some.

Surely the 4-letter word meaning "against" is not part of the theme? I have that plus a 4-letter other island shortened by "m" for minute, making a 7-letter island, therefore no reference to theme! Could you elucidate your answer afresh: at the mo (haha) can't see what you're getting at for the last 3 letters. Do you have -G?A for the ending?

I'm still not sure how 17d works, though, since it hasn't yet been mentioned, it must be obvious (I have a fish as my answer).
