I agree. I have submitted a complete solution but I have no idea whether it's correct - and I have completed every genius ever set and am usually pretty confident of their accuracy. This seems to be made up of solutions that are often split and even then barely words. The unifying factor varies ad lib and is sometimes very thin. And since we have no definitions, we are really shadow-boxing ...
Teenileeks - for 21 ac I have an answer to fit the wordplay but it is an abbreviation not found in my Chambers (though I found it in an online dictionary).
And if I have 21 down right, 'computer' refers to a specific company (not much heard of in that context any more)
have you tried putting chemist and rod hulls friend in the Universal anagram solver. it comes out as a (5,5) and seemed to fit my answers - which of yours doesn't it fit?
I had unthinkingly written in an answer (also 5,5 and with the same second word) just assuming it was right. And of course that, then, blinkered me to anything else.
