Thanks winnie. That has confirmed my answer to 69. Could not see why I had it but can now!
Will work on 32 when have finished in garden.Quick glance in Chambers and could not see.
My trusty Bradford's no help on this.
re 71: I have an answer but can't see a horse connection. My answer involves GP, loss, and a slang form of 'is not'; the two words certainly refer to something that is 'likely to shine'. But am I barking (or neighing) up the wrong tree?
Thank you LadyB. I'd checked the first word because I thought it might refer to the coat, but didn't bother with the second because I was sure it couldn't be...lesson learnt - never assume anything in quizzes!
thank you lizzieminto, I'd just got that via the other thread. I'll try this one on here too - is the word 'hopelessly' significant in 57? I have a possible answer but not sure whether it's precise enough.
Calliewag re 57 "hopelessly" could just as easily have read "extremely". You're looking for another term for "old fashioned" and the third word also means infested with nasties !
