Thank you for your response FRANCIS but the answer is something that you can eat eg. Rice, milk etc.

Hi quizzer - No - posted off without it. Agree with you it must begin ro or ru. Sorry I can't be of help. Did wonder if there might be a mistake in the clue but Richard is usually very accurate. Happy Christmas and good luck.

Still don't have No.99 but I wonder if someone could confirm that the clue for No. 108 is Brea (10 letters). Thought it might be a misprint but I know Richard is usually accurate. Did find a city of that name but that's no use.

Julie, 108 Brea is right, I've just got it. It's quite a classic clue. Let me know if you want help with it.

Hi Julie - not quite compos mentis having baked sallyw's excellent cake recipe but can confirm that 108 is 10 letters, ends with brea? and is a Scottish buttery biscuit. You being from Aberdeen should have got that one instantly. My late mother-in-law was from Aberdeen. Don't think anyone has managed to solve 99 - itching to know the answer. Do hope that this helps. Back to sallyw's cake - it's gorgeous. Enjoy a great Christmas and do try sallyw's recipe.
