Top Tree irritating things on this site?
I'll go first..
1. People asking for help, then, not leaving a clue, number of letters, or any letters they have!
2. People not giving any thanks for help they have recieved!
3. People opening multiple threads on the same topic!!!! just add a reply.
(I realise I have left myself wide open, but I had to get it off my chest)

Good point well made Bernie... good point well made.... but I think THREE is spelt with an aitch!!!!!!

1. Sorry to say this, but I think a lot of the problem is because the site is very poorly designed.

2. As for people not saying thank you to the person who's helped them out - well even crossword enthusiasts can be ignorant when it comes to manners.

3. I think the problem again rests with the fact (as in your item 1) that the site is poorly designed.

It's hard to criticise the owner of the site because he is only interested in selling advertising as that's what puts bread on his table. We have to be thankful that we have his site as a safe haven for those of us who really do have half a brain.

What really annoys me is:

1. People who ask for help with a 3-letter answer where they already have the middle letter! If they gave their idea as to the possible answer and asked for verification that would be different, but they just can't be bothered.

2. I don't like the fact that if I post something, I am unable to go back and correct any spelling or typos. This is really irritating.

3. If we had the facility to message each other, a lot of "persiflage" would be automatically cut out such as me asking Pastille how her corns are. (Pastille, do you have corns!!!???) I'd also really like to know whether NYTRAM really has 7 cats!!

Yes, we know people ask what we think are simple questions, but the questioner obviously doesn't or they wouldn't post.After all, we are supposed to be here to help aren't we ? yep.
It doesn't matter a hoot whether a new thread is referring to the same crossword or not. In fact, it sometimes makes it easier to spot, as very often, a new question on an old thread can be "lost".
I also find 99% of people do say thanks, albeit sometimes a bit late, but they may be off to work, or checking on the answer later in the day.

What does irritate me? Some of the "tosh" posted and I will not name names, naturally.
I am always making typos, as I type around 120 wpm and don't always hit all the keys.
I shall name myself the "typo queen" and crown myself forthwith.

And welcome back DoTW. I did notice that you have actually helped someone on another thread instead of your usual criticising and whinging, so there has been progress there. And the site has been SO much more pleasant without you and your ilk. Never mind - knew it wouldn't last. You just couldn't stay away from us and you had to bring it down with personal abuse. Plus ca change....

There's no gratuitous personal abuse here sallyw. Your chatty chums wanted to know what people found irritating. I've told them what I find irriating. What's the problem.

Well how about the fact that Bernie's question related to "things", and your answer actually referred to three people? Do you not think that a tad offensive? And why have you decided to start posting again after weeks, and be abusive? (I don't mean you shouldn't post, as to be fair your answers re Mephisto were excellent, thank you for that!) But why do you feel the need to open up a can of worms by posting such a snide and childish comment? You've obviously got a brain, why not use it in a positive way.
