Very straightforward this week. I believe the Nina is in row 6, and I think it is a transliteration of a word implying 60 - however, I thought the last one was 51, so may be wrong.

Took me longer than it should have. Northeast yielded last.
I liked 22.
Sorry, but can’t be bothered with Kiwi Ninas.

Yes, extremely straightforward. Although I needed Google to get the second word of 10.

Still lots of fun, thanks to Pangakupu. As an indication, my long COD list (in rough order of preference) was 22, 8, 17, 23, 14, 17, 15, 16, 3, 21, 27, 13. Cluing excellent IMO, with 24 perhaps the only weak point.

FOI 1a, LOI 19.

Some clue/solution coincidences!

COD 22, although the solution is extremely similar to my COD from Imogen's Prize of 2 weeks ago.
4d has appeared in strangely many puzzles of late.
17 is in this week's Private Eye.

I don't know any Maori and rarely spot P's Ninas, so defer to buzzybee in that department.

No worries, RogerM, but I know some are interested, and as I do have a fair knowledge of Maori I feel I can help.

Thanks Pangakupu.

Tough as always, some times enjoyable; this one so-so.

Sorry, buzzybee. You’re quite right and I was being unnecessarily grumpy.

After a brief hiatus to watch the start of the Solheim Cup, a couple of tea-trays landed very heavily and very noisily and the rest followed quickly.

BuzzyBee, you are correct, it should be 52 and P told us last time that the 52 reference was “easier” than 51 (a rather convoluted reference to Area 51).
I’ve not done the puzzle so I’ll leave that with you as I’m off back to bed…

Thanks Jono, as I recalled. I expected the Nina to refer to the number of weeks in a year, which could be fitted in, but no.

I've used Google AI to translate a row from Maori to English and it gives a word heavily associated with 60.
