Slowly advancing to the finish line now. I have 11 of the clashes, the thematic word that replaces the twelve clashes and the 5 letter name to write under the grid. I now only need to solve 14a and 2,7,10 down. 7d in particular has me stumped.

Is there an ambiguity as to how 9a can be entered? Either of the choice of letters produces a word in the BRB.

Forget my post @22, just being stupid as normal.

All done now apart from 7d which is driving me up the wall.

I have a full grid, the thematic word to resolve the clashes and the description of the clues and entries. But I can’t resolve 30. A nudge (or even a Lomu tackle) would be welcome.

Extra letter on last word

gitto - “the one earlier” is a reference to this being a word that was used in the past - it states “formerly” in Chambers
