Yet to finish, but just had to mention the most Paulinesque clue I've ever seen...

...and it's from Brockwell!

Thanks Brockwell.

Two to go in SE, Brendan. Know which clue you mean.

Nina helped with a few though don't know the ref.

Long list: 4d, 14d, 16d, 15a, 30a

Must look at parsing some more.

COD: 14d

Thanks to Brockwell!
Rather a tough one, but his customary wit is definitely in evidence.

Finished with difficulty (though many smiles along the way), lots of disguised definitions.
See a Nina but no clear theme. Probably both depend on UK GK.

FOI 9, LOI 16.
More than one Pauline clue.
Tentative top COD tier 15, 30, 27; second tier 10, 26 and 6.

I know little about football, but absorbed some GK from my brother (who's an Arsenal fan), which helped.

Well, thanks to Brockwell for a very entertaining puzzle.

Geeker, I'm amazed you got the "bowl" in 10a but. I think by now, you're probably an expert in the jargon.

I can see the Nina and am assuming it includes the first answer in the next row but one, but that's just a guess on my part.

Still don't fully understand the wordplay in 16d, where I can see the "slide" and "treat" but am at a loss to explain why the other letters come fom "without stopping slide" - I mean, if it just sait "without slide" I'd get it, but why include "stopping"?

Also, am totally befuddled by 26d, I can only think of one "plant" but can't get it from the rest of the clue so think it may be wrong?

Plus, in 11a - how is the definition "y?"

In the past, Brockwell has always had a theme, but I don't spot one here so feel I'm still missing something.

How did you all get on? Let us know in the comments.

Stay safe:-)

Sorry, for 16d I meant I can see the "climbing ladder" and "treat" but still baffled by "slide without stopping".

I spent 20 years in the Trade Mark Registry. It's as clear an infringement as I have ever seen.

Brendan, I was puzzled by 26d but the parsing is surprisingly a simple 1 inside 3.

Yes, I've picked up some 10a GK over the years of doing cryptics. :-)

Without a doubt Swarbrules 🤣 No doubt Paul is somewhere right now thinking "why didn't I think of that"? Or maybe he did but thought it was, perhaps, just a tad too risque!

Thanks Geeker, so that must mean the 1 comes from "OTT for Robert" - in which case I think there might be a few disgruntled solvers.

Actually, "OTT for Robert" is perfect parsing - please ignore my last post.
