I have not parsed 11a, but I think the single letter definition is also related to nina.

I don't see what you see in every across clue, though.

I thought after solving 1d/9a that might be theme, but no.

I see more generic 22a in many down clues.

With regards the theme, if past is prologue, then Brockwell will probably look in on this thread at some point, so we may get the answer straight from the source.

More specifically I’m guessing that EB was a 10 22

Very little to like in this one. Childish in places.

Ooosh, took a looong time to get a foothold, but once I had a few in (and two coffees) it flowed until the end. A couple unparsed, but I feel those will come to me in the week.
