Could anyone hint at the parsing the initial entry for 'Lusty'?

It's straightforward once you identify which words to remove.

Great puzzle.

Tough clues, made tougher by the extra words and the quasi-random order of the across clues.
The biggest surprise was how straightforward the second grid fill was, after the initial struggle for the original grid.

@barnacle - the solution is contained within two words once the extra word or words are removed.

Stuck on the SE corner. Nudges appreciated for final versions of Japanese foxes, Ruffians and Erinaceous.

aspria, to my mind the extra word in 18d should be followed by woman, the Japanese foxes refers to a genus of carnivorous animals and Erinaceous refers to the appearance of the subject and is a heraldic word.

gitto, RBB has that word in 18d as an alternative spelling. Threw me for a while.
