Rather good today I thought, with some tricksy parsing in places.

Stuck on 7 and 8 down - any hints?

8 2 mostly rejected - 13 rejects it (4) C?R?

8. The 2 is not a x-reference, think of a word for two then take the final letter away and reverse. 13 is a cross reference.

7. Think poker.

Yes, I wasn’t keen on 3a.

Thanks again for your explanation of 8d - I got the answer but was flummoxed by the reference to 2. Can’t fully parse it though, as I can’t understand the reference to parliament. A foreign parliament perhaps?
Some challenges today. I worked out 25a but wouldn’t have got there from the definition.
My COD: A toss up between 10a, 16a and 6d.
