The clue for 29d is just wrong. Very commonly people make the natural assumption that the nautical term "sheet" means "sail", but it doesn't: it's a rope.

Brendan, in the perhaps unlikely event that you're still around, my reading of the clue for 20a is as follows. Definition: might. Word play: Right + ([Captive] + [enemy's leader] all taken at the front of "right").

For Chris and others: Boatman made a social media post a week ago mentioning this puzzle: "Advance warning ... In @theguardian.com #crossword next Saturday, 4 April - some things just have to be said."

I'm surprised that no one has said anything about 26D. I cannot parse it for the life of me.
I'm quite prepared to wait for 225 though.
The reason I haven't been here for a long time, and this thread demonstrates it nicely, is that I intensely dislike the brag-posting by all those who found it easy. E.g. "quick solve", "gentle", etc.
Is it really necessary to post such remarks? Do I care how good you are at these? No, I don't.

How odd. It seems that every time I post that I cannot parse a solution, I figure it out about two minutes later.
So, no need to reply to #54.
