Is this another uh-uh puzzle by Doc? We don’t all have Chambers 13th edition, and even if we did, finding and checking for words to fill the unclued lights would be tedious.

Yes, 2740 is merely the latest in Doc's series of puzzles which require one to have the most recent printed edition of Brewer or Chambers. And then there is his lackadaisical editing...

Without Chambers it is unfinishable!

We had a discussion about these a couple of years ago in one of the threads but I can’t recall where. There are a more recent entries that aren’t listed but which are very entertaining.

@Buddy: Thanks for the link! Many of the unclued words are indeed in the document which you linked, but I do not think that all of them are. With the linked document and my 12th edition of Chambers, I have managed to find all the unclued lights except 12a. Could anyone give me a nudge?

13a first appeared in the 11th (2008) edition of Chambers.

Misprint - I meant 12a of course
