@helveticus - I meant are there any missing clues - as Doc does from time to time.

I have now worked out the two missing entries.

I thought this was one of Doc’s best for some time, however I cannot get 34A:

Last part of pâtisserie item? Yes! Part! (4)

I have ROL-, so a very limited range of solutions. Parsing eludes me somewhat, although “part” would suggest “ROLE.”

Last part of profiterole?

I believe that is what is intended.

I'm struggling with 38 -INK. None of the words which fits seems to me to have the kind of definition we're looking for. The site mentioned earlier has PINK3 as a possibility: damned if i can see anything rum in PINK3, or any other PINK, come to that.

In my Chambers app, I believe it’s PINK6.

PINK6 in my online BRB is "vi to wink; to blink; to peer; to peep.
adj () blinking." Not sure where the amusing bit is. There must be a better answer somewhere.

I think it’s the one to do with being a socialist.
