PS there is a bumper puzzle special with the paper with a festive crossword by Ludwig but no cryptic.

Happy Christmas all. Have been wondering over the parsing of 10a in light of all the comments. If the last word is ‘lover with a capital O’, I think that quite readily generates the answer.

I've just finished this Xword. Thanks, Philistine. A good mix of difficulty for me. Too many good ones for a COD but 20 raised a smile.
LOI was 1D. and finally parsed 2D. Very clever use of "as".
