My post wasn’t meant to be an explanation, just an addition observation. I’m sure quisling has the intended parse.

Still struggling with that, oughtn't the clue then be 'Lover O?'

O quisling, that IS good. I’d been trying to make something of the first four letters of the solution but was fixated on the first letter of lOver, thinking that the remaining letters represented the last letter of the solution.
Having said that, I’m still not entirely convinced: if ‘capital O’ is a charade of the answer, what is the significance of the l, v and r, beyond a repetition of the definition?
Tricksy indeed!

rosencrantz has said it so much more succinctly than I!

I am not convinced about 10a. Wouldn’t that be clued “Lover - or O”? What are the letters lver doing? But I have nothing better!

Or indeed, to incorporate jono’s acute observation, ‘O lover’

Do not like the 4d/12a overlap

If the purpose on the Nina was to introduce us to the band, it's worked, I'm listening to them now.

Agree about 10a, it's frustratingly close to being a brilliant clue.

Regarding 10a, I'm not sure I fully understood what others have suggested, but I assumed that the first letter of 'lOver' is the reversal indicator (interpreted as a lower case L, not an upper case I). The capital O is a hint that this is a lift-and-separate clue. You need to include the character before the 'or' to get the middle two letters of the answer, but it's the wrong two letters with the online typography at least.

I mean the extra character gives you letters 3 and 4 (reversed), so not really the middle. I wish you could edit posts here.
