I also thought there would be a holiday jumbo today. That would have been consistent with the same Saturday last year. Maskarade (as Doc) set a jumbo barred puzzle in the Spectator recently so maybe the Guardian loses out this time around.

I see Julius sets a jumbo in the FT today which may be tempting. And there’s a Christmassy theme in the Everyman tomorrow (which is already available if you go searching).

Mostly very straightforward, but I haven't parsed 10a, and I can't find anything for 24a.

I thought 7d was a brilliant definition.

Off travelling now, so any response from me will be delayed.

Likewise Chris re 10a. 24 is an anagram like many of the clues. Probably a few too many for my tastes but easily made up for by some brilliant clueing from Phillistine today. Thanks for an enjoyable but quite straightforward prize before Christmas. I don't know the significance of the nina either.

FOI 1d. LOI 4d. COD the quite witty 20d.

I should have added that is the name of a band so it might have significance for Phillistine in some form or other.

As so often happens I have ground to a halt with a single clue that I cannot get anywhere with. For 4d I have crossers _e_m/_u_e

I would be most grateful for any nudges in the right direction.

Your last letter of the first word is wrong.

Confused by 10a in the app version. Lover- or lOver. Seems to be one obvious answer from the first word of the clue but then what’s going on?!
How is the clue supposed to appear? Or is this correct?

justsolve, as mentioned your "m" crosser is incorrect.

The definition is "light" and the key part of the wordplay is "in"...

Chrise 24a is an anagram. Not an obvious one to spot but it’s a nice moment when the penny drops
