Late again - filled this in a while back and picking up again for the endgame. But no clue how to link the six words

And I can see one name in the seventh column (six letters), but not a second.

Can anyone give me a hint?

Thanks

Try reading column 7 from the bottom upwards.

Good luck Adeano. I gave up after a fruitless grid stare. Just remembered to check the solution which is now out. Very much a GWIT. Either you see it or you don't.

The key, to me, was to work out how one of three pieces could contain 20 cells, especially if it has order 4 rotational symmetry.

Sorry, where do you get order 4 rotational symmetry from? I see nothing to indicate that

It doesn’t say it, but I’ve done many Pointer puzzles and the grids usually exhibit it. And the puzzle it pays homage to exhibited it. By all means try without symmetry and see how you get on

The original puzzle has order two symmetry doesn’t it? Rotate it by 180 degrees and it’s the same, but not 90

You may be right, sorry. It’s nearly a month since I looked at it. Ignore my contributions
