16d is a generalised computer business reversed, then "failed" (a bit loose). Definition first word.

I'm impressed that you have seen a 27 in England. I get the BirdGuides updates, but I hadn't noticed there had been one.

I agree that some clues are pretty straightforward whilst others are pretty tricky. Any hints on 1, 27 and 29 across much appreciated

1 (I assume down) is a backward/upside-down clue, definition "high altitude conditions". I took ages to see it.

29 is an insertion, 1 into 6. Definition first 4 words of clue.

29 is an unnecessary word, but where would you get onto a platform from? Put an R in another word.
